  7.     POLICY DISPUTES. According to insurance-industry executives,
  8. publisher Malcolm Forbes took out millions of dollars worth of
  9. life insurance with different companies in the years preceding
  10. his death. He often said this was an efficient way to pass
  11. along money to his heirs, but now at least one of the insurers
  12. is balking -- and investigating some of the information the
  13. publisher supplied on his applications. Says Richard
  14. Bevilacqua, public relations director for John Hancock: "Forbes
  15. had a multimillion-dollar policy that was taken out in the last
  16. two years. A claim has been filed, but we have not paid it,
  17. pending an investigation."
